Questions clients frequently ask their attorneys about
"A Day in The Life of" videos:
Q: I’m not comfortable being on camera. Is this really necessary?
A: It’s normal to be a little camera shy. After the first few minutes most people relax and can go through their normal daily routine. Sometimes they even forget the camera is there.
Q: Who will view this video?
A: Your A Day in the Life of video is a confidential document that can only be viewed with the express permission of you or your attorney. Usually only other attorneys involved in your case and insurance company representatives will view the video. If your case goes to trial, it may be shown to the jury.
Q: What will be videotaped?
A: We’d like to show your typical daily routine. This may include:
* Modifications to your home related to the injury
* Family and friends who assist you, special exercises, visits from health care professionals, nurses, physical therapists and domestic assistants.
* Dressing, bathing, preparing meals, eating, moving about your home and any household activities you may do.
* Transportation-- how you get around. Modifications to your car or van.
* Regularly scheduled visits to Physical Therapists and Occupational Therapists.
* School or work environment.
Q: Will I be videotaped while undressed?
A: This is something you should discuss with your attorney. Shots can be framed so that your privacy is not violated. Undesirable shots can be edited out.
Q: Why do we need to videotape?
A: The purpose of the video is to show your daily activities and how you and your life have been affected by your injury.
Q: Will other people be videotaped?
A: We will only videotape individuals who have agreed to take part in the video. |
